STORYBOARD

I have only recently started experimenting with photoshop and illustrator so decided I should use them to design a storyboard for my recent project - a children’s television programme. As I want the opening titles to be a bright animation I felt that using the computer to draw with would suit the style that I wanted to acheive. It’s still a bit messy but here are my first attempts!

Just wanted to show some love for these amazing paintings that look like miniature models, just the inspiration i needed right now for my project!!

SHIPS

I’m designing a set for a kids tv quiz show and can’t stop drawing boats. I’ve become obsessed with the pirate theme and i’m doodling all the time. These are just pens on paper and a quick photoshopped version to get a feel for the different colours.

COPENHAGEN

This is where I spent the first few days of the new year, and it was absolutely freezing! But so much fun despite the weather! People of Copenhagen you are ridiculously healthy, it was impossible to go anywhere without almost being hit by a bike or a runner, and I am so impressed with how good your English is, you speak it better than most English people!

I found this little street off the main shopping street one morning when I got up early to explore, it was so quiet and atmospheric compared to everywhere else.

From the clock tower in the Old Town Square, like a miniature village.

Prague is such a beautiful city, best birthday present ever.

NINETEEN EIGHTY FOUR

Well pretty much a whole summer, an autumn and the start of a winter have passed since I last posted and I feel a bit of a creative boost is needed! As you will have seen in my previous post, when I left you last I was about to watch Blue Valentine - what an amazingly emotional journey that film is! Quite hard hitting but seriously amazing performances from Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams

Anyway, just a little bit of simple photoshop stuff I’ve been doing recently. Our big project for the year is to take George Orwell’s novel Nineteen Eighty Four and produce designs and models for a film set from it. We had a photoshop project set alongside it to try and show the atmosphere of what we are trying to achieve through our design work.

BLUE VALENTINE

I’m about to watch it. Lots of Gosling love to follow.
