I’m in the middle of my last major project of this year, the 1 minute film project. A lot harder than it sounds. Especially when I, a person of very little acting experience bar the yearly local pantomime, appear to be playing the role of a dead girl…sounds awful doesn’t it? Well it’s not as cliche or as horrible as it sounds and hopefully I’ll manage to pull it off. It’s the editing part that’s troubling me as I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to Final Cut Pro. Any tutorials for a first timer would be greatly appreciated! I think its time to move on from Windows Movie Maker and the slightly more advanced iMovie, as trusty as they are. Meanwhile, I am producing some character sketches and we spent the day today dressing the set - my friend’s walk-in wardrobe (i know, sickening isn’t it) has been transformed into a bedroom and a highly convincing one at that! Updates to come as we progress, in the meantime it’s time for me to don a pair of wondrously tacky red heels and get my fake boyfriend to dance around a room with me whilst images of our memories are projected onto a blank wall…it’s all so art school.
My first real memory is of my mum and auntie taking me and my sister to the circus. I must have been about 3 or 4 but I distinctly remember sitting right up high at the back of the big top, watching the horses going round and round the ring. There was one horse who clearly did not want to be there as, while all the other horses were jumping over various different obstacles, this one decided to just casually canter around them.
It’s either that memory or a memory of sitting on a chair in the hospital eating a banana while my mum was having her ultrasound scan when pregnant with my little bro.
